Position Overview
The Lead Front End Supervisor is responsible for managing the front line in the absence of the Front End Manager. This role involves mentoring, instructing, and nurturing all frontline team members to ensure outstanding member service. The Lead Front End Supervisor trains, develops, and inspires all team members to effectively implement membership programs and initiatives, as well as manage front line operations. This position is accountable for monitoring, promoting, and coaching to achieve desired membership/member experience objectives and outcomes. It is essential that all membership products are presented and member orders/requests are processed in a prompt, positive, and efficient manner. The Lead Front End Supervisor delegates tasks, oversees staffing, and ensures compliance with operational standards while delivering exceptional customer service to our members.

Oversees the front line (including cashiers, self-checkout, and membership desk) in the absence of the Front End Manager. Exemplifies and provides exceptional member service while coaching, instructing, and developing team members to do the same. Drives membership metrics through acquisition, retention, loyalty, and experience initiatives. Enhances member engagement, speed, and productivity at the front end. Trains, mentors, motivates, recognizes, and evaluates frontline team members on tasks, responsibilities, and expectations defined by their roles, including member engagement, service, and membership metrics. Utilizes observation forms, productivity boards, and membership metrics reports to enhance performance and member engagement. Performs front end duties including, but not limited to, closing through point-of-sale systems and addressing member escalated service issues. Acts promptly to ensure members receive assistance in a timely and efficient manner. Serves as a backup for cashiers and Membership Sales Ambassadors as needed. Scans all club merchandise through a point-of-sale system to ensure accurate inventory counts and purchase totals for members. Assists with loading shopping carts when necessary. Manages self-checkout lanes and assists members with operations and technical difficulties. Collects payments via cash, check, or other charge payments from customers. Issues receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to members. Remains informed on all merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information. Applies discounts by scanning and redeeming coupons. Supervises the cleanliness of front-of-club member service areas. Demonstrates proficiency in navigating system applications. Utilizes online task management systems to manage workflow, track, and monitor daily club operations. Performs additional duties as assigned, including working in other departments as necessary. Adheres to all club policies and procedures. Regular, predictable attendance is a fundamental function of this role.Qualifications
Previous leadership experience is preferred. Prior knowledge and experience in membership or sales is preferred. Previous cashier experience is preferred. Basic math skills are required.Environmental Job Conditions
Most of the time is spent moving about frequently on hard surfaces. There may be a need to occasionally position oneself to examine or scan merchandise, including bending, handling, pulling, reaching, and/or stooping. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects greater than 30 pounds with assistance. Located in a comfortable indoor area with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises. There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents.In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ's Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $17.50.
