POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Marine Service Operations Supervisor operates under the guidance of the Marine Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing and directing daily activities of the team within the Marine Service department at Bass Pro Shops or a Free-Standing Store, encompassing inventory management, service operations, warranty processing, rigging, delivery, detailing, and parts management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists the Marine Manager in achieving financial objectives for the Service department, including Service and Parts Sales, Gross Margin, Inventory Control, and Payroll Management.

Provides daily leadership and guidance to team members in the Service Department.

Organizes and assigns all service, rigging, and warranty tasks; ensures completion of work orders to meet customer satisfaction in a timely manner.

Strives to enhance team productivity consistently.

Maintains a safe, clean, and secure working environment.

Fosters a strong commitment to exceptional customer service, ensuring a pleasant shopping experience for all patrons.

Collaborates with the Marine Manager to recruit customer-focused team members; participates in the hiring process and makes recommendations; coordinates training; provides input on performance evaluations; prepares weekly schedules; coaches and inspires team members to enhance customer relations and cultivate a collaborative work atmosphere.

Addresses customer and team member concerns in conjunction with the Marine Manager.

Assists the Marine Manager in organizing all special events, including boat shows and promotional activities.

Manages and verifies the accuracy of unit and parts inventories.

Ensures timely creation and submission of warranty claims, as well as receipt of warranty payments.

Guarantees that products are properly detailed and deliveries are conducted in a friendly and professional manner as scheduled.

Supports the Marine Manager in executing additional supervisory responsibilities in alignment with company policies and applicable regulations, including interviewing, training, planning, assigning and directing work, performance evaluation, addressing complaints, and maintaining a positive, harassment-free work environment for all team members.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience: 2-4 years in Retail Marine or a related field; supervisory experience is advantageous.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages.

Ability to read and analyze various reports.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from managers, team members, customers, and the public.

Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups.

Proficiency in PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems.

Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and corporate staff.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Regularly performs computer work, walks, and stands.

Occasionally sits and lifts up to 50 lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT:

Performs duties within the scope of general company policies, procedures, and objectives. Analyzes problems and conducts needs assessments. Exercises judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired outcomes. Regularly utilizes independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that impact policies, procedures, and practices.
