POSITION SUMMARY:

The Culinary Operations Supervisor is entrusted with supporting management in achieving restaurant objectives through the effective implementation and enforcement of company policies, procedures, and performance standards. This role involves hands-on leadership to ensure:

  • Timely service of hot meals by friendly staff
  • Exceptional cleanliness and presentation
  • Complete guest satisfaction

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Reports directly to the General Manager or the Manager on duty.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all menu items are prepared, portioned, and presented in a clean and sanitary manner, adhering to established procedures and local health regulations.
  • Be prepared to assist in various roles within the restaurant as needed.
  • Shift Preparation: Set up each shift for success through careful planning and inspection, anticipating potential challenges. Communicate expectations clearly with staff, assign workstations, and foster enthusiasm within the team.
  • Lead Your Shift: Execute your plan to ensure a successful shift. Your positive attitude and adaptability will inspire your team, especially during busy periods. Address any food or service issues promptly.
  • Follow-Up: Evaluate the shift's outcomes against your plan, ensuring readiness for the next guests and shift. Communicate any performance issues, guest concerns, or maintenance needs to management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Prolonged standing and walking for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to see at various distances and distinguish shapes.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and kitchen environments.
  • Ability to reach heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2-3 feet.
  • High mobility and flexibility within the workspace.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Basic math skills for calculations.
  • Manual dexterity for tasks such as slicing and operating kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry trays weighing about 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals.

SUPERVISION:

Receives guidance and training from the Regional Manager regarding specific procedures and assignments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma required; some college or degree preferred. A minimum of one year of experience in the food service industry is preferred.
