Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll & Human Resources Specialist to join our team at the State of Minnesota. As a key member of our Human Resources Division, you will play a critical role in supporting the inclusive search for candidates, advising managers on best practices, and processing biweekly payroll accurately and timely.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the inclusive search for candidates through strategic recruitment efforts
  • Advise managers on best practices for an equitable hiring process
  • Support successful onboarding of new staff
  • Train all staff on the use of the payroll system
  • Process biweekly payroll accurately and timely
Requirements
  • At least two years of experience in payroll administration
  • Ability to interpret and apply multiple collective bargaining unit agreements and compensation plans
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with the State of Minnesota payroll system (SEMA4)
  • Knowledge of or experience with the state's personnel laws, rules, policies, and procedures
