About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Accountant to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our project accounting team, you will be responsible for providing financial support to project managers and teams, ensuring accurate project financials, and maintaining compliance with accounting principles and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and analyze project costs and revenue, ensuring accurate project profit and loss calculations.
  • Perform lifecycle project accounting, including creating project accounts, tracking projects, and reconciling project payables and receivables.
  • Collaborate with project managers and teams to establish project budgets, update budgets, and make project accounting recommendations.
  • Generate project financial reports and visualization, evaluating reports for accuracy and developing analysis on labor breakage, cost trending, and other project-related financial reports.
  • Monitor and analyze revenue and unbilled balances to ensure proper revenue recognition.
  • Authorize access to project accounts and transfer expenses into and out of project-related accounts in compliance with established accounting practices and guidelines.
  • Maintain quality control standards and procedures for generating accurate and precise project-related financial records.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or closely-related discipline.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant post-education experience in accounting, project contracts, and change management documents.
  • Proficient knowledge of project accounting principles, practices, and methods.
  • Ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of accounting principles.
  • Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders and understand contract requirements, scope, and schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Familiarity with Oracle project accounting software.
