POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Intake Coordinator is responsible for efficiently managing the patient registration process, which includes gathering essential demographic details, assessing applicable fees, and facilitating payment collection.


POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education:
Must possess a High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a healthcare environment or a related field.

At least two (2) years of experience in customer service roles.

Skills and Abilities:

Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with word processing and email applications. A skills assessment will be conducted.

Understanding of Third Party Reimbursement processes is essential.

Ability to accurately gather and interview clients for registration purposes.

Competence in reading and interpreting relevant materials.

Must demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and adaptability.

Strong oral and written communication skills, alongside customer service, organizational, and mathematical abilities.

Capability to operate a 10-key calculator and credit card processing equipment.

Ability to perform bank deposit tasks.

Essential Functions:
Conduct interviews with patients to collect necessary demographic information.

Review relevant policies and regulations, such as HIPAA, with patients.

Determine applicable fees based on a sliding fee scale and verify third-party coverage; establish payment plans as required.

Maintain accurate information in patient records as necessary.

Prepare daily financial deposits and reconcile tally sheets.

Guide patients to appropriate resources for alternative funding options.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

No supervisory responsibilities.
