POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Intake Coordinator is tasked with managing the patient intake process, ensuring that accurate personal information is gathered and that all applicable fees are assessed and collected appropriately.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience:
- At least two years of experience in a healthcare environment or a related field.
- A minimum of two years in a customer service role.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong computer proficiency, including familiarity with word processing and email applications.
- Understanding of Third Party Reimbursement processes.
- Ability to accurately register and interview patients.
- Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, and numerical skills.
- Comfortable operating a 10-key calculator and credit card processing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews with patients to collect demographic data.
- Clarify policies such as HIPAA to patients.
- Confirm third-party insurance coverage and establish payment plans as necessary.
- Ensure patient records are maintained with precision.
- Prepare daily financial deposits and reconcile accounts.
- Guide patients to additional funding resources when needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
