Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Services Representative to join our team at LifeLong Medical Care. As a Patient Services Representative, you will be the first point of contact for patients and their families, providing exceptional customer service and support in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Schedule and reschedule appointments for patients, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is maintained in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Triage calls based on established procedures, including urgent medical calls, and page health center staff as needed.
  • Screen new patients over the phone for eligibility and register them as appropriate.
  • Maintain effective written and verbal communication, including clear and concise communication in the EHR and Electronic Practice Management System (EPM).
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new Patient Services Representatives.
Requirements
  • One (1) year of multi-line telephone experience and/or one (1) year experience as a medical receptionist with scheduling and telephone experience.
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with standard office software (MS Office) and typing speed of at least 30 WPM.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, emails, and memos.
  • Ability to abide by LifeLong's Organizational Standards for conduct and attendance.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in written communications to patients and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one-year of experience in a healthcare setting, including experience in private practice or a Community Health Center.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
