The Position: Reporting to the Director of Auxiliary Services, the Aquatics Operations Supervisor provides overall leadership and coordination of the aquatic facilities at the College and for the aquatic facility at another designated location.

The Aquatics Operations Supervisor oversees the work of classified and other staff and student assistants as assigned. The AOS executes duties consistent with District and college mission statements and values.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safety compliance
  • Participate in the recruitment of administrative staff, coaches, assistant coaches, lifeguards, pool attendants, and swim instructors
  • Manage and maintain safety records, certifications, and work-study hours
  • Oversee budget management through scheduling, timesheet reviews, and labor reports
  • Develop and monitor the aquatic operations budget
  • Supervise aquatics membership and financial revenue receipts
  • Coordinate and manage pool maintenance directly
  • Train incoming staff to align with organizational culture, student, faculty, and community service
  • Evaluate lifeguard performance through in-service training
  • Organize and coordinate special events
  • Plan, organize, schedule, and coordinate summer swim lesson programs
  • Implement and actively structure daily safety, security, and risk management policies
  • Review online presence, including social media and pool website
  • Engage actively in wellness improvement initiatives for students and faculty
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant academic major from an accredited institution OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience and/or training in aquatic facility management and operations
  • Current First Aid for Public Safety Personnel certification (Title 22), CPR
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds
  • Availability for team support during call-outs and special events
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Program development and knowledge of industry best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines
Physical Requirements:
Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, seasonal heat and cold or adverse weather conditions. Must be able to perform duties of a physical nature, including standing, lifting, sitting, walking, and swimming.
