Job Summary

The Carter Center is seeking an Associate Director, Development to manage key aspects of the Carter Center Weekend, including overseeing the auction database, cataloging donated items, researching and writing item descriptions, updating entries post-auction, and coordinating catalog production and photo shoots.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop event calendars, schedule meetings, create program materials, manage event staffing needs, and coordinate with vendors to ensure a successful donor event.
  • Support for other events, like regional meetings, conferences, and receptions, may also be required.
  • Work closely with Development, Communications, Volunteer Services, Peace and Health programs, IT, Facilities, Events, and the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum.
  • May supervise an intern and the CCW Administrative Assistant and report to the Strategist, director of Carter Center Weekend.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and three years of experience in fundraising or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training.
  • Strong interpersonal and long-term relationship-building skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in written and oral forms.
  • Ability to understand and articulate the mission and goals of The Carter Center and its programs in a compelling manner.
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with mass mailings and event planning preferred.
  • High degree of competency with Microsoft Office software and Raiser's Edge constituent management system.
  • Active engagement in professional development and best practices for fundraising programs.
Physical Demands

May lift/move approximately 25 lbs. During the event, standing for long periods may be necessary. Travel for 5-10 days pre and during the event is required.

Work Environment

This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to The Carter Center on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.

Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines. All non-exempt employees must reside within the state of Georgia. The Carter Center reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
