Job Summary

The Carter Center is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Development to join our team. This role will be responsible for managing key aspects of our fundraising events, including overseeing the auction database, cataloging donated items, researching and writing item descriptions, and coordinating catalog production and photo shoots.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the auction database and ensure data integrity
  • Research and write item descriptions for auction items
  • Coordinate catalog production and photo shoots
  • Develop event calendars and schedules
  • Manage event staffing needs and coordinate with vendors
  • Support other events, such as regional meetings, conferences, and receptions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in fundraising or a related field
  • Strong interpersonal and long-term relationship-building skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in written and oral forms
  • Excellent follow-up and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with mass mailings and event planning
  • High degree of competency with Microsoft Office software and Raiser's Edge constituent management system
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active engagement in professional development and best practices for fundraising programs
  • Strong research skills, including researching auction items, vendors, and potential venues
Work Environment

This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly, but must be able to commute to The Carter Center on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.
