Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prioritize, and execute comprehensive risk evaluations and consulting services for a designated portfolio, ensuring adherence to departmental service standards with moderate oversight.
  • Work collaboratively with underwriting teams to leverage departmental resources, providing operational insights that facilitate informed business decisions. Prepare and deliver detailed reports, value assessments, and strategic recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • Engage with clients to identify and manage critical risk factors. Analyze loss data and devise improvement strategies aimed at mitigating identified risks and enhancing opportunities.
  • Manage claims expenses by formulating recommendations that align with industry standards and Westfield's best practices regarding identified risk factors. Foster client engagement and commitment through effective communication and documentation.
  • Utilize expertise to cultivate strong relationships with agencies and clients. Market and consult with agents and customers to build trust, gather feedback, and enhance the overall experience.
  • Employ various technological platforms and resources to address underwriting and client needs effectively.
  • Stay informed on relevant regulations, technological advancements, and legislative developments. Enhance risk service capabilities through ongoing professional development, including training and participation in industry seminars.
  • Contribute to departmental initiatives, projects, and product innovations.
  • Deliver presentations and training sessions to both internal and external stakeholders on risk management topics.
  • Participate in agency visits and marketing efforts to support business unit and departmental goals, focusing on growth, retention, and market positioning.
  • Report to the Risk Control Leader regarding activities and challenges within the assigned responsibilities; escalate issues beyond your authority to the appropriate channels for guidance.
  • Travel as necessary, including regular use of a company vehicle to cover the assigned territory, which may involve short-notice travel and daily driving tasks.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 4 years in commercial insurance or at least 2 years of loss control or related industry experience.
  • Experience in delivering presentations, both internally and externally, as part of previous roles.
  • Proven consultative skills.
  • Strong persuasive abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, particularly in drafting reports and correspondence.
  • A bachelor's degree in insurance, finance, mathematics, engineering, safety, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Effective time management skills to balance workload and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards.
  • Ability to perform essential functions, including working 40 hours in an office environment, operating office technology, and traveling as required.
