Job Summary

The Senior Enterprise Risk Management Consultant will support the activities of the Enterprise Risk Management Committee at Alerus Financial. This role will focus on developing and maintaining enterprise risk monitoring and reporting systems, conducting divisional risk assessments, and providing analytical support to finance and risk areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Divisional Risk Management
    • Conduct divisional risk reviews in accordance with established enterprise risk review program.
    • Support divisional management in the development and implementation of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). Monitor divisional KRIs. Investigate and report on threshold breaches.
    • Support divisional management in the development and implementation of Risk Control Self Assessments.
    • Support analysis for stress testing and capital allocation.
    • Investigate incidents and monitor findings through remediation.
  • Operational Risk Management
    • Coordinate Business Continuity Planning process and documentation.
    • Support Model Risk Management program.
    • Evaluate Risk Acceptance requests and recommend appropriate action.
    • Facilitate New Product Risk Assessments with management.
  • Administrative Support
    • Track issues through remediation.
    • Maintain the company's Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance systems.
    • Periodically update risk appetite statements.
    • Assist with ERM Meeting prep and minutes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience with asset management, financial services operations management, financial institution risk management, or related capacities.
