Position Overview:

As an NDT Process Specialist, you will engage with internal Quality Management and various Business units to enhance and refine our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) systems.

Your role will involve leveraging your technical expertise and proven success in collaborating with both internal and external organizations, while also leading a skilled team of technical professionals.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Possess the expertise to interpret relevant codes, standards, and contractual documents governing NDT methodologies.
  • Assume technical leadership for the NDT facility and its personnel.
  • Select appropriate methods and techniques for specific inspections, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of alternative NDT methods and associated repair processes.
  • Prepare and validate the adequacy of procedures and work instructions.
  • Draft, approve, and instruct on NDT procedures and work instructions to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Maintain a broad understanding of various NDT methods and the manufacturing/repair processes and inspection technologies employed.
  • Facilitate the training, examination, and certification of personnel.
  • Conduct NDT assessments for component acceptance as required.
  • Perform internal and external audits as necessary.
  • Oversee the development of personnel and training programs.
  • Ensure continuous training and supervision of Level 2 inspectors.
  • Maintain oversight of processes, equipment, and the condition of inspection areas.
  • Verify that all tooling is appropriate for the required inspections.
  • Uphold accountability for all actions and maintain ethical standards in all aspects.

Basic Requirements:
  • ASNT Level 3 Certification in at least one of the following: PT, MT, with the ability to obtain ASNT Certification in both methods within six months of employment.
  • Certification as Level 3 per NAS 410 in both PT and MT within six months of employment.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Level 3 in an Aerospace environment or equivalent.
  • Certification or knowledge of additional NDT methods is advantageous.
  • Basic computer skills and technical writing proficiency.
  • Experience in Etch is a plus.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted for approximately 25% of the workday.
  • Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with production management computer systems and related internal control systems.
  • Willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned.
