Job Title: Area Manager/Department Supervisor

At Ross Dress for Less, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Area Manager/Department Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Store Leadership, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a specific area of the store, ensuring a positive customer experience, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintaining a Safe and Secure Environment: Ensure the store is free from hazards and maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment for customers and associates.
  • Customer Service: Treat all customers, associates, and other leaders with respect, demonstrating courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times.
  • Personal and Store Brand: Represent and support the Company brand at all times, maintaining a professional appearance and ensuring all associates adhere to the Company Dress Code.
  • General Merchandising: Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to Company standards, process all merchandise with a sense of urgency, and maintain a clean and organized stockroom.
  • Loss Prevention: Understand and comply with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program, maintaining a high level of awareness on the sales floor and ensuring public view monitors are properly maintained.
  • Front-End Supervision and Operations: Execute all Company Best Practices, maximize productivity, and ensure associates are executing to Company standards at the Front End.
  • Fitting Rooms: Maintain and clean the Fitting Rooms, ensuring all garment tags are audited and accounted for to Company policy.
  • Administrative Duties: Ensure cash pulls and bank deposits are conducted to Company policy, responsible for Front End control, and perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Requirements:
  • Excellent Verbal Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with customers, associates, and other leaders.
  • Fluency in English: Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Prior Customer Service and Supervisory Experience: Preferred experience in customer service and supervisory roles.
  • Familiarity with Point-of-Sale Equipment: Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
  • Ability to Work Evenings and Weekends: Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to Use Store Equipment: Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
  • Ability to Spend Up to 100% of Working Time Standing: Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Ability to Regularly Bend and Lift: Ability to regularly bend, stoop, and lift more than 25 pounds.
