Position Summary:
As a Wind Turbine Blade Maintenance Technician, you will be an integral member of our specialized blade repair team. This team is essential for the upkeep, inspection, and repair of turbine blades, significantly reducing downtime and enhancing productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the company's core values and adhere to the ONE RWE philosophy.
  • Ensure all operational and maintenance tasks are executed safely and in compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Utilize necessary safety gear, including personal fall protection systems, and proactively identify potential job hazards.
  • Access wind turbines and perform composite repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Transport and set up essential tools and equipment at job sites.
  • Assist in the mobilization of repair equipment and support major component replacements, primarily focusing on blades.
  • Maintain proper storage and handling of all repair service equipment.
  • Perform safety and other wind farm-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, with a preference for those holding an associate degree in a relevant field. A minimum of two years of experience in operations and maintenance within the power generation sector, particularly in blade repair, is required. Candidates with renewable energy experience, especially in wind, will be prioritized.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with multiple turbine manufacturers (e.g., GE, Siemens, Vestas, Nordex) is advantageous. Familiarity with wind turbine blade construction and repair processes, as well as knowledge of composite materials, is highly desirable. Candidates must also demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Physical Requirements:
All applicants must be able to pass physical fitness assessments and maintain Global Wind Organization Certification. The role requires climbing wind towers regularly and the ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Candidates should be prepared to work in various environmental conditions and be willing to travel as needed.

Work Environment:
This position is site-based and may involve travel to multiple locations. The role demands the ability to navigate and work in confined spaces and to recognize and mitigate safety risks.
