Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Blade Repair Services Technician Associate to join our team at RWE Clean Energy, LLC. As a key member of our internal blade repairs service team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our wind turbines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assure that all operation and maintenance activities are performed safely and consistently with policies and procedures.
  • Climb wind towers and access wind turbines to perform composite repair & maintenance tasks.
  • Lift, carry, and transport essential equipment, tools, and materials to the job site.
  • Assist in transportation, setup, and the operation of the up-tower blade access mechanism.
  • Support a team performing platform and ground access composite repairs on multiple turbine manufacturers.
  • Assist in the mobilization of all repair equipment to the site.
  • Assure proper storage, maintenance, and handling of all Blade Repair Service equipment.
  • Perform safety and other wind farm-related tasks and act as a backup to personnel at other RWE sites when necessary.
Requirements
  • An associate degree in science or a related field from an accredited school is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of work experience in operations and maintenance of power generation, blade repair, transmission, and distribution.
  • Preference will be given to the candidate with some renewable energy experience, preferably in wind.
  • Experience in project development or adjacent areas within the power sector is an advantage.
  • Structured and organized, able to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Willing to relocate to within 1 hour drive of the site.
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain an RWE-sponsored Commercial Driver License (CDL), if so requested by RWE, for mobilization of our composite component repair equipment.
  • Understanding of wind turbine blade construction, inspection, and repair.
  • Previous Blade Access Platform and rigging experience preferred.
  • Understanding of composite materials, including (but not limited to), epoxy resins, polyurethane fillers and paint, core materials, and mix ratios.
  • Ability to balance to work in closed and small swaying areas on top of and within wind towers and walk across small surface areas to access areas within wind turbines.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
  • Identify energy isolation points and implement LOTO for protection.
  • Knowledge of computer network communication protocol and theory of operation is desired.

  • This position is a site-based role that involves occasional travel.
  • The individual should be able to crouch, kneel, or half-kneel for intervals of up to five minutes to execute maintenance duties in low areas.
  • Travel up to 75%, multiple worksites, hot/cold weather conditions, irregular hours on short notice.
