Join Our Team - Clinical Laboratory Specialist

Are you equipped with the expertise and knowledge necessary to excel in a high-complexity laboratory environment? The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a dedicated individual to become part of our esteemed team. As a CLINICAL LABORATORY SPECIALIST, you will be instrumental in the processing of laboratory specimens, conducting tests on patient samples, and maintaining quality assurance across various laboratory disciplines.

  • Conduct the processing of laboratory specimens efficiently.
  • Execute testing on patient samples and uphold quality control in areas such as Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, and Urinalysis.
  • Ensure the integrity of analyzers and reagents through various verification methods.
  • Perform calibrations and routine maintenance on analyzers as per scheduled protocols.
  • Carry out phlebotomy procedures for adult and geriatric patients when necessary.

Qualifications:

A graduate degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science is required. Prior experience in a hospital laboratory setting is essential. Additional qualifications may include a bachelor's degree in laboratory science, completion of an accredited laboratory program, and national certification as a medical technologist.

This role within the Commonwealth of Virginia is vital and may necessitate working various shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and potential overtime.
