Position Overview

The MEP Project Supervisor is tasked with leading, directing, and coordinating the efforts of subcontractors and trade labor concerning the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems integral to the project. This role is pivotal in ensuring safety, timely delivery, quality workmanship, and budget compliance throughout the project lifecycle. The MEP Supervisor will engage in effective communication and collaboration with the Lead Superintendent, Finish Superintendents, and the Project Management team, as well as subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and make informed decisions regarding work performance related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality assurance, and staffing levels of trade employees.
  • Facilitate coordinated project operations by managing work among assigned trades and resolving local area issues concerning procedures, design clarifications, labor adequacy, and scheduling.
  • Implement and manage the overall site safety program, ensuring subcontractor adherence to Milhaus standards and relevant safety regulations.
  • Mentor and develop Finish and Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and interns as assigned.
  • Uphold strict compliance with ethics and regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Create detailed schedules and determine work sequencing, developing recovery strategies to maintain project timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure quality installation of materials and products in accordance with design specifications and Milhaus Construction Standards.
  • Engage with owners and architects/engineers to address field issues, investigating and resolving concerns as they arise.
  • Assist in the billing process related to work completed, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
  • Ensure all work is installed in compliance with approved contract documents.
  • Collaborate with engineers on the coordination of mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and piping layouts across all trades.
  • Lead project inspections, startup, commissioning, and the handover process for all systems.
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractor and supplier activities to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Review project changes in collaboration with the Project Management team.
  • Maintain detailed daily records of trade contractors' work progress using Procore.
  • Participate in preconstruction efforts, including constructability and logistics assessments.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of proven experience in construction.
  • Experience in building and nurturing subcontractor relationships.
  • Exceptional communication, listening, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with various delivery methods and unit turnover processes.
