Role Summary

The MEP Construction Superintendent is tasked with overseeing, directing, and coordinating the activities of subcontractors and trade labor concerning the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems involved in the project. This position is crucial for ensuring safety, timely project delivery, quality workmanship, and budget compliance. The MEP Superintendent will engage in effective communication and collaboration with the Lead Superintendent, Finish Superintendents, and the Project Management team, as well as subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and make informed decisions regarding work performance related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality assurance, and staffing levels for trades.
  • Facilitate collaboration among assigned trades to ensure a cohesive project operation, addressing local issues related to procedures, design clarifications, labor, equipment, and scheduling.
  • Implement and manage the overall site safety program, ensuring subcontractor adherence to Milhaus standards and relevant safety regulations.
  • Guide and mentor Finish and Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and interns as assigned.
  • Uphold strict compliance with ethics and regulatory requirements at all times.
  • Develop project schedules and determine work sequencing, implementing recovery strategies to maintain project timelines and budget.
  • Conduct inspections of framing and MEP installations to ensure compliance with design specifications and Milhaus Construction Standards.
  • Engage with owners and architects/engineers to address field issues, investigating and resolving them effectively.
  • Assist in the billing process concerning work completed, material invoices, and subcontractor payment applications.
  • Ensure that all work is executed in accordance with approved contract documents.
  • Collaborate with engineers to coordinate all mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and piping layouts across trades.
  • Lead project inspections, startup, commissioning, turnover, and training processes, as well as punchlist activities necessary for system acceptance and handover.
  • Direct and monitor subcontractor and supplier activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Review project modifications in conjunction with the Project Management team.
  • Maintain detailed daily records of MEP trade contractors' progress using Procore.
  • Participate in preconstruction activities, including constructability reviews and logistics planning.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years of proven experience in construction management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with subcontractors.
  • Exceptional communication, listening, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with various delivery methods and unit turnover processes.
