Tad PGS is a leading company in the field of thermal engineering, with a strong focus on spacecraft and hardware development. We are seeking a highly skilled Thermal Engineer to join our team in Laurel, MD.

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Thermal Engineer to conduct conjugate heat transfer modeling and analysis for spacecraft and hardware using Ansys Fluent. The successful candidate will perform thermal model validation using test and inflight data, support thermal design decisions with analysis and calculation, and conduct thermal design trade studies that balance performance, resource use, risk, cost, and schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct conjugate heat transfer modeling and analysis for spacecraft and hardware using Ansys Fluent
  • Perform thermal model validation using test and inflight data
  • Support thermal design decisions with analysis and calculation
  • Conduct thermal design trade studies that balance performance, resource use, risk, cost, and schedule
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • Strong background in heat transfer and fluid dynamics
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in thermal design and analysis using the CFD software ANSYS FLUENT and meshing
  • Proficient in ANSYS SpaceClaim or Discovery CAD for modeling complex systems
  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams
Preferred Skills
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with spacecraft or satellite development programs
  • Experience using the Thermal Desktop software package
