Contract CFD Thermal Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled CFD Thermal Engineer to join our team at TAD PGS, Inc. in Laurel, MD. The successful candidate will have a strong background in heat transfer and fluid dynamics, with experience in thermal design and analysis using ANSYS Fluent and meshing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct conjugate heat transfer modeling and analysis for spacecraft and hardware using ANSYS Fluent
  • Perform thermal model validation using test and in-flight data
  • Support thermal design decisions with analysis and calculation
  • Conduct thermal design trade studies that successfully balance performance, resource use, risk, cost, and schedule
  • Coordinate with all levels of the program and engineering staff on thermal design, analysis, and test matters

Basic Hiring Criteria:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • Possess a strong background in heat transfer and fluid dynamics
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in thermal design and analysis using the CFD software ANSYS Fluent and meshing
  • Proficient in ANSYS SpaceClaim or Discovery CAD for modeling complex systems
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with spacecraft or satellite development programs
  • Experience using the Thermal Desktop software package
