Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SUE Supervisor to oversee our Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) field operations. As a key member of our team, you will leverage your expertise to ensure precise utility mapping and effective management of field crew activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Expertly operate SUE utility locating and designating equipment in intricate utility environments to ensure accurate mapping of all utilities.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed daily reports, forms, and field sketches, both electronically and manually.
  • Supervise and mentor SUE field crew members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Coordinate with project managers to prepare crews for field assignments.
  • Act as a representative for the company, effectively communicating with clients, subcontractors, and third parties during field operations.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and operation of vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and job hazard analyses with crew members.
  • Manage traffic safety setups and complete monthly equipment inventories.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to supervise and train personnel in SUE roles.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a SUE Tech III or 4 years in utility locating with at least one year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong map reading skills and the ability to transcribe technical information.
  • Familiarity with Air/Vacuum Excavation Equipment.
  • Preferred knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD.
  • Physical capability to operate heavy tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to meet client-required identity verification standards.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project assignments.
  • OSHA Safety certifications are advantageous.
