Survey Team Instrument Operator Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Survey Team Instrument Operator to join our Infrastructure - Survey & SUE Team at our office in Boston, MA or Norwell, MA.
Job SummaryThe Survey Team Instrument Operator is responsible for supporting data collection efforts of detailed surveying tasks. This is an entry-level technical position that is focused on working with and supporting experienced Survey Crew Chiefs to complete various assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Support data collection efforts of detailed surveying tasks
- Work with and support experienced Survey Crew Chiefs to complete various assigned tasks
- Conduct basic survey computations, records research, equipment maintenance, and operations
- Become proficient with various company data collection standards and procedures
- High school diploma required; A.A.S and/or B.S degree, Survey or related preferred
- NSPS-CST Level I certification preferred
- Valid US driver's license required
- No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office is preferred
- Good oral and written communications
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn about the surveying industry
- Has a strong knowledge in math, especially with trigonometry and geometry
- Strong ability to work in a team environment
- Ability and desire to meet client-driven schedules
- Ability to travel short-term is required
- Must be able to carry and lift heavy equipment over rough, uneven terrain and physically navigate varying field conditions
- Ability to work outdoors in different weather conditions required
- Ability to represent him/herself and the company in a professional manner to the general public
$48,000 - $57,000
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
