Physician - Department Chair of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced physician to serve as the Chair of Pathology, Anatomy, and Laboratory Medicine at West Virginia University School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the department's clinical, academic, research, and service missions, and will work closely with the Vice Chair of Pathology and other departmental leaders to advance the department's strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the department's clinical, academic, research, and service missions
- Develop and implement strategic plans to advance the department's goals and objectives
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote excellence in clinical care, education, and research
- Oversee the department's budget and financial operations
- Represent the department in various internal and external forums
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from an accredited medical school
- Certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
- Hold or able to obtain medical licensure in the State of West Virginia
- Current medical school appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level
- Demonstrated experience with established evidence of achievements in clinical care, education, and research
- At least ten (10) years of clinical practice experience and a minimum of three (3) years administrative experience in an academic medical center or large healthcare system
