Physician - Department Chair of Urology

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced physician to serve as the Chair of the Department of Urology at West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the department's academic mission, strategy, and operations, while maintaining a strong commitment to undergraduate, pre-doctoral, graduate, and interdisciplinary health sciences education.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the academic mission, strategy, and operations of the Department of Urology.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care and service to patients throughout West Virginia and its border states.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the department's research and scholarly activities.
- Collaborate with clinical services to support a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
- Monitor clinician, patient, referral, and employee satisfaction in accordance with organizational goals and guidelines.
- Ensure the practice of evidence-based medicine and optimal patient care by clinicians.
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Quality Officer to develop and monitor continuous performance improvement.
- MD, MD/PhD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Urology residency program.
- Certified by the American Board of Urology and participation in continuing urologic certification.
- Hold or able to obtain medical licensure in the State of West Virginia by start date.
- Current medical school appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level.
- Demonstrated experience with established evidence of achievements in clinical care, education, and research.
- At least ten (10) years of clinical practice experience and a minimum of three (3) years administrative experience in an academic medical center preferred.
