Physician - Department Chair of Urology

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced physician to serve as the Chair of the Department of Urology at West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the department's academic, clinical, and research missions, and will play a key role in advancing the university's mission to provide high-quality patient care, education, and research.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership and vision for the department, aligning with the university's goals and objectives.
- Oversee the department's academic programs, including undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate education.
- Lead the department's clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to professional standards.
- Develop and implement research initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Manage departmental finances, creating and executing a budget that supports the department's goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with hospital administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure seamless integration of departmental activities with hospital operations.
- Represent the department and university in local, national, and international forums, promoting the university's reputation and advancing its interests.
- MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Urology residency program.
- Certified by the American Board of Urology and participation in continuing urologic certification.
- Hold or able to obtain medical licensure in the State of West Virginia by start date.
- Current medical school appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level.
- Demonstrated experience with established evidence of achievements in clinical care, education, and research.
- At least ten (10) years of clinical practice experience and a minimum of three (3) years administrative experience in an academic medical center preferred.
