About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced physician to serve as the Chair of Pathology, Anatomy & Laboratory Medicine at West Virginia University Medical Corporation dba University Health Associates. This is an exceptional leadership opportunity for a physician with a strong commitment to excellence in clinical care, education, and research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Department's clinical, academic, research, and service missions
  • Oversee the quality of clinical, educational, and scientific programs within the Department
  • Manage the Department, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and program development
  • Hire and retain outstanding faculty and staff to support the needs of a growing Academic Health System
  • Develop and implement a research portfolio that aligns with the Department's strategic direction
  • Collaborate with clinical services to support a multidisciplinary approach to patient care
  • Ensure that pathology services are consistent with current professional standards and the mission, vision, and values of WVU Medicine
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from an accredited medical school
  • Certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology
  • Hold or able to obtain medical licensure in the State of West Virginia by start date
  • Current medical school appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level
  • Demonstrated experience with established evidence of achievements in clinical care, education, and research
  • At least ten (10) years of clinical practice experience and a minimum of three (3) years administrative experience in an academic medical center or large healthcare system
