Position Summary:

We are currently in search of a full-time Patient Service Representative for our Pediatrics office. The representative will undertake a variety of essential responsibilities, including:

  • Managing incoming calls and scheduling patient appointments.
  • Welcoming patients upon arrival and processing co-payments.
  • Verifying insurance details and registering patients in our system.
  • Facilitating patient check-out and scheduling follow-up visits as necessary.
  • Balancing daily financial transactions and confirming orders.

Additionally, the representative may be tasked with entering physician-related charges into our system and managing billing for hospital or nursing home services.

Key Responsibilities:

This role is highly visible, requiring the representative to maintain a positive office atmosphere. Responsibilities include:

  • Greeting patients warmly and maintaining a cheerful demeanor.
  • Effectively communicating with patients, including those who may be distressed.
  • Managing multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.
  • Performing data entry and telephone duties for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least one year of experience in a public-facing role, ideally within a healthcare environment.

Additional Skills:

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and various health insurance plans.
  • The ability to prioritize urgent calls and respond appropriately.
  • Strong communication skills for both telephone and in-person interactions.
  • Proficiency in a Windows-based PC environment.
