Position Summary:We are currently in search of a full-time Patient Service Representative for our Pediatrics office. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including:
- Managing incoming calls and scheduling patient appointments.
- Facilitating patient check-ins and collecting co-payments.
- Verifying insurance details and registering patients in our system.
- Coordinating follow-up visits as necessary.
- Balancing financial transactions and verifying orders at the end of the day.
Additionally, this position may involve entering physician-related charges into the system and billing for hospital or nursing home services.
Key Responsibilities:The Patient Service Representative plays a vital role in patient interactions, necessitating a consistently positive demeanor. Responsibilities include:
- Greeting patients warmly and maintaining an upbeat attitude.
- Exhibiting professionalism in all patient and coworker interactions.
This position requires availability on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with extended hours on Wednesdays. There is also a rotating Saturday morning shift.
Preferred Qualifications:A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with at least one year of experience in a public-facing role, ideally within a healthcare environment.
Essential Skills and Abilities:The ideal candidate will possess:
- Knowledge of medical terminology and various health insurance plans.
- The ability to identify priority or emergency calls.
- Effective communication skills with patients, including those who may be distressed.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in data entry and use of a Windows-based PC.
