About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Deputy EGS to join our team at Bechtel. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for leading a team of mechanical engineers and designers in the preparation of designs for mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Assist the Mechanical Engineering Group Supervisor in leading the team and ensuring technical adequacy in accordance with company, contract, and industry codes and standards.
  • Error-Free Deliverables: Be accountable for delivering error-free technical reports, studies, and design documentation.
  • Design Approval: Approve technical reports and studies, design documentation, calculations using engineering software, and specifications for complex mechanical equipment.
  • Team Management: Assist in building an inclusive team environment, provide leadership and mentoring to team members, and create meaningful goals.
  • Schedule Management: Establish and maintain work plans to ensure schedules are met and stakeholder requirements are satisfied.
  • Problem-Solving: Devise innovative approaches to solving problems from a variety of detailed technical options and assess cost implications.
  • Design and Compliance: Ensure compliance with flow sheet and safety requirements by detail design, and identify major technical uncertainties and present solution options for management decisions.
  • Advisor Role: Serve as an advisor for the analysis and solution of engineering problems and interpret drawings, verbal instructions, and applicable codes relevant to project requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical (or related) Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional work experience.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving capabilities, excellent communication skills, and ability to articulate explanations.
  • Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering work processes, procedures, and specifications, and experience with industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
