We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Execution Center Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of mechanical systems and equipment for various projects.
Key Responsibilities- Originate and/or revise Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), calculations, data sheets, material requisitions, and specifications.
- Evaluate, select, and apply standard mechanical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria for preparation of original designs, layouts, details, drawings, and specifications.
- Design, develop, modify, and evaluate mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards, and guides.
- Prepare or assist in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
- Coordinate mechanical engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction, and other functional groups.
- Provide guidance to other mechanical engineering personnel for specific tasks or projects.
- Provide technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues.
- Provide assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project mechanical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution.
- Mentor and assist more junior mechanical team members.
- Complete mechanical documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
- Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
- Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work products.
- Support development of project cost and schedule estimates.
- Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) from an ABET accredited university/college and a minimum of 8-10 years of relevant professional work experience.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Related experience includes, but is not limited to, experience in Piping and Instrument Diagram (P&ID) development, fluid system design, hydraulic, heat transfer, and thermodynamic calculations, and equipment specification and design development for waste processing, nuclear, refinery, power, or chemical process facilities.
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards.
- Hands-on Microsoft office programs and other computer programs.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering work processes, procedures, and specifications.
- Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Prior experience working in an execution center environment and demonstrated flexibility in work assignments.
- MS degree in Mechanical (or related) Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME-NQA-1, MIL-Q-9858A, or ISO-9000.
- Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
- Registered Professional Engineer in the USA (Mechanical or related).
- Possesses an active security clearance or have the ability to obtain one upon hire.
