Position Overview
Job Summary:
Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. is on the lookout for a skilled mechanical engineer with a focus on mechanical and control systems development. Our Knoxville facility is at the forefront of creating advanced systems for nuclear monitoring applications, contributing to international safety and compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop fabrication and assembly documentation in accordance with ASME Y14 standards.
- Implement tolerancing and design strategies that enhance manufacturability.
- Analyze electrical schematics for both troubleshooting and design enhancements.
- Prepare proposals, test documentation, customer presentations, and design specifications.
- Collaborate with technicians to ensure that specifications are feasible and verify adherence.
- Engage with clients in technical working groups to discuss project requirements.
- Estimate labor hours, monitor actuals, and coordinate project timelines with fellow managers.
- Diagnose complex systems using sensor data and log file analysis.
- Generate bills of materials for new designs and oversee material tracking during production.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
Supervisory Duties:
This role does not entail supervisory responsibilities but may involve providing technical guidance to junior engineers.

Relevant professional experience should include knowledge of the following systems:
- High purity compressed air systems
- Cryogenic cooling technologies
- High vacuum systems
- Nuclear detection systems
- Industrial control systems
Additional Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, approximately +/-10%.

This position offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, 401k matching, and paid leave. The role is entirely on-site, with a work schedule of 9 hours from Monday to Thursday and a 4-hour shift on Friday.
