About the Role:

Teledyne Brown Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Knoxville, TN. As a Mechanical Engineer - Systems Development, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical and controls systems for our nuclear detection systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical and controls systems for nuclear detection systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and functionality
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports
  • Interface with customers and stakeholders to understand system requirements and provide technical support
  • Estimate labor hours and track actuals to ensure project timelines and budgets are met
  • Troubleshoot complex systems and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain bills of materials for new designs and track materials during fabrication

Requirements:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on systems development and integration
  • Experience with ASME Y14 standards and design for manufacturability
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematics and troubleshooting
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance
