Position Overview:

The role of a Customer Service Specialist involves managing incoming communications via phone and email for Upstate University Hospital's various services, including Medical Answering and the Transfer Center.

Leveraging a comprehensive understanding of the hospital's offerings, the Specialist will accurately assess the needs of callers and provide suitable assistance.

This position emphasizes one-call resolution, showcasing outstanding customer service and problem-solving abilities while aiding clients with medical inquiries, appointment bookings, event registrations, and general information regarding programs and services.

The Specialist will utilize multiple information systems and collaborate with various departments and healthcare providers while meticulously documenting call interactions.

This position presents an exciting opportunity with additional competitive pay differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates should possess an Associate's degree along with two years of relevant experience in healthcare or call center environments, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong communication and customer service skills, the ability to juggle multiple tasks, and proficiency in computer applications are essential.

Independence in work, the capability to train new staff, familiarity with medical terminology, and bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) are preferred qualifications. Experience with Multi-Line or Call Center phone systems is also advantageous.

Work Schedule:
Availability for rotating shifts, including Days, Evenings, Nights, and Weekends as required.
