Job Summary

Pine Street Inn is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Guest Services Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our overnight staff, you will provide direct care to guests, assist with housing pathways, and connect guests with essential resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Services: Respond to guests in a timely and professional manner, prioritizing their needs and providing support to ensure a safe shelter environment.
  • Housing Pathways: Assist guests in developing and implementing a housing plan, connecting them with resources and services to achieve stable housing.
  • Resource Connection: Facilitate connections with substance abuse, mental health, and medical resources, ensuring guests receive necessary support.
  • Data Entry and Reporting: Accurately enter data into the Homeless Management Information (HMIS) system and document reports in accordance with agency policy.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum one year of experience in the Human Services field.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to stand for long periods, stretch, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Mental Abilities: Ability to respond safely and quickly in emergencies, use good judgment in stressful situations, and demonstrate sensitivity and patience when working with guests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid MA Driver's License: In good standing.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish: Ability to communicate effectively with guests.
  • Narcan Administration: Knowledge and experience in administering Narcan in a work setting.
  • Knowledge of Addiction and Mental Illness: Familiarity with issues related to addiction, recovery, and mental illness.
