The Opportunity:
In this role, you will have the chance to:
  • Collaborate with a dynamic team within a globally recognized infrastructure consulting and engineering firm.
  • Oversee the creation of environmental impact assessments and review documents in accordance with NEPA and/or CEQA.
  • Contribute to Black & Veatch's Environmental team by providing strategic environmental consulting for a variety of infrastructure projects, ensuring environmental stewardship for our clients.

The Team:
Our Environmental team consists of a diverse group of ecologists, engineers, scientists, project managers, and legal experts working together to identify optimal environmental solutions for our clients. With over 40 years of experience, we have supported a wide range of infrastructure projects, including power generation, oil and gas facilities, water treatment, and more.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the preparation of environmental impact assessments and compliance documents in line with NEPA, CEQA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to provide essential support to clients in environmental compliance, permitting, and review services.
  • Interpret and apply statutes and regulations affecting project siting, design, construction, and operation.
  • Conduct environmental analyses and develop permit applications and compliance manuals.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, engineering, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience in leading environmental assessments in compliance with NEPA, CEQA, and international standards.
  • Experience in consulting, permitting, and environmental quality review processes across various infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on achieving project goals efficiently.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:
A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience is typically required for this position. Graduate studies may count towards this experience if directly applicable.

Work Environment:
This role will operate in a hybrid model, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work.

Physical Demands:
The position may require sitting, talking, hearing, and other physical activities typical of an office environment. Occasional travel may be necessary.
