Parsons Oman is seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Geologist to join our team. As a Senior Environmental Geologist, you will play a key role in performing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation, delivering a cleaner, safer planet for our customers and future generations.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform various geological and environmental tasks, including soil, surface water, groundwater, sediment, and other environmental sampling.
- Conduct soil classification and sampling during drilling, test pitting, and excavation activities.
- Assist with supervision of drillers and other subcontractors.
- Execute field projects with health and safety as the top priority.
- Complete field documentation, including activity hazard analysis (AHA) forms, project field reports, field notes, sampling records, and chain-of-custody forms.
- Assist in geologic and environmental analyses and interpretation, which may include hydrogeology and/or geochemistry.
- Analyze and interpret environmental sample analysis results within the context of the geological setting.
- Prepare figures of environmental data, potentiometric surface maps, geologic maps, and cross sections.
- Develop materials and assist in completing reports on finished field work.
- May provide technical guidance to lower-level geologists or environmental scientists.
- Work with project managers, using interpersonal and organizational skills, to ensure projects are completed on time and budget.
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology or related field and typically 5+ years of related work experience.
- Familiarity with related environmental rules and regulations is preferred.
- Ability to work in a hybrid work arrangement, splitting time between a Parsons Oman office and project locations.
- Valid driver's license, with the ability and willingness to travel to and from field locations.
- Should be able-bodied as the work requires some physical exertion.
- Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication skills.
- Maturity in interaction and ability to operate self-sufficiently in the field or as part of a team.
