Job Description

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing assigned employees and ensuring the safe and timely completion of production schedules or department work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manages operations in their area to ensure the safe and timely completion of production schedules or department work.
  • Maintains a safe working environment in their area and promotes safety awareness among associates, enforcing safety regulations.
  • Ensures the team maintains overall quality levels and meets on-time delivery schedules.
  • Inspects production/department work to ensure compliance with specifications and directs necessary adjustments.
  • Supervises employee activities, including performance evaluation, discipline, training and development, problem analysis and resolution, motivation, and effective communication.
  • Studies production/department work schedules and estimates employee hour requirements for task completion. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production/department goals.
  • Actively works on process improvement and departmental efficiency, making recommendations for production methods, equipment performance, work quality, working conditions, and equipment usage.
  • Interacts with various levels of personnel in the plant, including quality control, industrial engineering, and product development and design.
  • Communicates with other supervisors or managers to coordinate activities between departments or areas.
  • Actively participates in the entire Operations Team, supporting strategic plans and implementing initiatives.

  • Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of employee information, including performance, illness, investigations, and personal details.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance manuals, and procedure manuals in English.
  • Competence in using computer applications for daily administrative duties.
  • Preferred bilingual proficiency in both Spanish and English (speaking, reading, and writing).
Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience Required:
  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of 'Lean Manufacturing', the 5s, and other process improvement skills desirable.
  • Previous leadership and/or upholstery manufacturing experience desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units of measure (whole numbers, fractions, decimals).
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment with temperatures potentially exceeding outside air temperature.
  • Willingness to work outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions.
  • Capacity to sit, stand, and bend for extended periods.
  • Readiness to wear appropriate safety equipment as required.
  • Capability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary.
