About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Program Manager to join our team at Amazon Corporate Services AFHI LLC - R26. As a key member of our Global Engineering Services (GES) Sustainability team, you will be responsible for executing, planning, and tracking Sustainability initiatives to drive buildings-focused decarbonization, energy efficiency, and resource positivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and prioritize execution plans for Sustainability initiatives in New Launches and retrofits of existing buildings.
  • Drive the construction ideation, scoping, and design phase of new sustainability retrofit programs and Sustainability inclusions into new buildings.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the CF, ATS, and AMZL Design Standards and Design Criteria, and coordinate technical and standards review with the Design and Construction Technology Team, Global Realty Engineering, and other primary stakeholder teams.
  • Support Construction and Pre-Construction Managers as an SME on Sustainability initiative implementation and tracking and in representing GES/D&C in Sustainability tender/scope of work conversations with GC/Developers.
  • Redevelop, launch, and become the PPO of the Sustainability Initiative intake mechanism.
  • Support lease renewals by driving landlord contributions for energy efficiency-focused retrofit enhancements.
Requirements
  • Degree in engineering, surveying, architecture, or construction management or related field.
  • Significant experience as a design and/or construction professional and experience in leading Sustainability projects/programs.
  • Project Management experience from design phase through implementation and operation for Sustainability-focused projects/programs.
  • Experience negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts and driving contractor documents such as RFPs/Scopes of Service.
  • Ability to travel throughout the US and ECCF (Mexico, Brazil, Singapore, Australia).
  • 5+ years of experience developing and implementing carbon reduction and sustainable building implementation strategies for energy, carbon, water, materials, and waste - from concept through operations.
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
  • 5+ years of experience managing project timelines, contractor scopes, and project budgets.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience.
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization.
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules.
  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, etc.).
  • LEED Accredited Professional, PE, CEM, LFA, or other building professional accreditation.
  • Experience reading and interpreting building engineering drawings.
  • Ability to deliver in ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile environment.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and drive agreement and alignment on complex topics.
  • Experience delivering results in large, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated sustainable building project experience.
  • Experience with current building regulations.
  • Deep green building experience with demonstrated industry-leading sustainability design and construction.
