Certified Respiratory Care Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY
The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in the treatment and management of patients with respiratory needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Educate patients and caregivers on the effective use of respiratory equipment and care procedures.
2. Ensure that patients and caregivers are proficient in operating and maintaining the necessary equipment.
3. Conduct clinical assessments and tests, including pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry, and vital signs.
4. Maintain routine follow-up with patients based on their individual requirements.
5. Provide various types of respiratory care equipment, including oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, and both invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
6. Inspect and test equipment to confirm proper functionality.
7. Document all relevant patient information, care plans, physician orders, and follow-up notes.
8. Enter accurate data on monitoring platforms for specific respiratory devices.
9. Collaborate with referring physicians regarding patient treatment plans and home environments.
10. Participate in ongoing training and education sessions related to respiratory care.
11. Assist with patient scheduling as necessary.
12. Perform additional duties as required.
SUPERVISORY ROLE

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must meet the company’s background check standards.
2. Graduate from an accredited respiratory therapy program.
3. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance as per company policy.
4. Registration or certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
5. Current RCP license in the applicable state(s) if required.
6. Valid CPR Certification.
7. Maintain all necessary licenses in good standing across all states of practice.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
2. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
3. Effective communication skills in person, over the phone, and electronically.
4. Successful completion of the company’s respiratory therapy orientation and competency evaluation.
COMPUTER SKILLS
1. Proficient in using electronic handheld devices.
2. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
3. Basic skills in printing, faxing, and scanning.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. At least one year of relevant experience is preferred.
2. Bilingual capabilities (reading, writing, verbal) are advantageous.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to use hands for various tasks, reach with arms, and communicate effectively. The role may involve traveling by vehicle and potentially lifting equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
