Key Responsibilities:- Administer and evaluate respiratory care for patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics, under the guidance of a licensed Respiratory Therapist.
- Utilize independent judgment to implement respiratory care protocols while maintaining a proactive and professional approach.
- Focus on patient-centered care, aligning with the hospital's mission and values.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure safe and effective patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families, providing education on respiratory health and treatments.
- Demonstrate composure and adaptability in high-pressure situations, responding promptly to emergencies.
- Assist in training and mentoring new staff and students, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Participate in emergency response teams as required.
- Facilitate patient mobility and transport necessary equipment within the facility.
- Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent military training.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within six months of hire.
- Active Respiratory Therapist (RT) license from the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts within 90 days of employment.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Basic computer skills.
Work Environment:
