Position: Senior Automation Systems Engineer
Location: Auburn Hills, MI (On-site)


Position Overview:
The Senior Automation Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in the global strategy, execution, and coordination of the Controls and Software platform solutions for Transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting feasibility studies and cost evaluations for Controls & Software related to vehicle programs.

• Acting as the primary liaison between the Controls System (Controllers and Software) and the Propulsion System Community.

• Overseeing the development of Controls Features.

• Establishing a Feature Roll-out Plan that aligns with overall program objectives and timelines.

• Leading efforts in Controls & Software change management, quality assurance, and risk assessment.

• Mentoring and guiding a team of controls engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.

• Ensuring thorough validation of control functions to meet and exceed specified requirements throughout the vehicle development lifecycle.

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams and other engineering disciplines to advance the development of innovative controls technology.

• Driving continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes, methodologies, and technologies.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Proven track record of working independently and collaboratively on complex systems, delivering high-quality technical solutions.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

• At least 5 years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 2 years in the automotive sector.

• Experience in an agile work environment.

• Previous experience as a Controls/Software developer using Matlab Simulink/Stateflow, Embedded C, or as a testing or calibration engineer is advantageous.

• Proactive, accountable, and ownership-driven.

• Familiarity with software development tools and debugging techniques.

• Strong collaboration skills in a team-oriented environment and clear communication abilities.

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.

Compensation: $90,000 - $95,000.00 per year
