Position Overview
This role reports to the Operations Manager-NAM Growth Industries and serves as the technical lead for engineering activities across various assignments. You will ensure that all engineering tasks are executed efficiently and cost-effectively while showcasing your expertise as a design authority within your discipline.
Key Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for:
• Collaborating on project installations, commissioning, and site activities to identify and resolve engineering issues.
• Mentoring project engineers and designers in translating conceptual designs into engineering documentation, including modeling, prototyping, and calculations.
• Leading and coordinating teams (fewer than 10 members) across all engineering disciplines, both in-house and outsourced.
• Implementing design thinking principles in projects, including modeling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in robotics, automated mobile robots (AMRs), mechanical equipment, PLC software and hardware configuration, and industrial applications.
- Experience with ABB Robotics, including Robot Studio or RAPID.
- Proficiency in ABB 800xA, AC800M (Control Builder), AC500 (Automation Builder), and/or Allen Bradley SLC/PLC-5 (RSLogix 500), Control/CompactLogix (RSLogix 5000) programming.
- Familiarity with ABB Flexley / ASTI AMRs, traffic management software, and HMI programming.
- Expertise in system integration, automation, and electrical controls design.
- Experience with site startup and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of food and beverage, battery manufacturing, data centers, foundries, cement, and medical industries.
- Strong organizational, planning, analytical, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel.
- Work authorization to permit employment with ABB in the US.
