Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staffing Coordinator to join our team at Senior Living Communities. As a Staffing Coordinator, you will play a critical role in representing the agency as a frontline customer service liaison between patients/clients and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent the agency as a frontline customer service liaison between patients/clients and caregivers.
  • Ensure that the skills of the caregiver assigned to each case are appropriately matched to the needs of the patient/client.
  • Consistently assign the same caregiver to each patient/client whenever possible.
  • Schedule only the amount, frequency, and duration of services identified in the plan of care.
  • Maintain a standardized weekly schedule for all active patient/clients and document daily schedule changes.
  • Validate caregiver documentation against schedules and reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Create and update active patient/client and caregiver lists weekly.
Principal Duties and Essential Functions:
  • Knowledge of and support for the agency's philosophy, purpose, mission, goals, and policies.
  • Service the needs of patients/clients, conferring with the Care Coordinator Supervisor for direction and offering cases to qualified staff.
  • View patients/clients and/or their families as the primary customers of all scheduling activities.
  • Focus on meeting the needs of patients/clients and caregivers.
  • Follow the agency's approved standardized process when scheduling patient/client care.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient/client schedules.
  • Validate caregiver documentation against schedules and reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Make staffing changes in accordance with agency policy.
  • Participate in the hiring of caregivers.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of and support for the agency's philosophy, purpose, mission, goals, and policies.
  • Report for work on time and prepared to assume duties.
  • Adhere to agency dress code.
  • Record work accurately.
  • Follow policy for reporting in sick.
  • Leave for meal breaks on time and return on time.
  • Vary work schedule to meet agency needs.
  • Work overtime when requested.
  • Schedule all time off with supervisory approval.
  • Attend and participate in meetings.
  • Respond to and manage complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Follow standard precautions and infection control procedures.
  • Adhere to agency policy, procedure, and processes.
  • Use proper body mechanics.
  • Perform all duties as assigned.

  • May be exposed to minimal to moderate noise.
  • May be required to work extended periods of time at a computer terminal.
  • May encounter difficult situations, including contact with mentally ill and deceased residents.
Education and Experience Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED.

One (1) year data entry, computer-related experience, or clerical and systems experience, preferably in a healthcare environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Demonstrated data entry ability with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  • Organizational, teaching, human resource, management skills.
  • Ability to work under time pressure.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and the ability to quickly master new software applications.
