Healthcare Consulting Manager

New York, New York, United States Huron Full time

The Opportunity

Huron is dedicated to assisting its clients in fostering growth, enhancing operational efficiency, and maintaining leadership within their respective markets. We collaborate with healthcare organizations to cultivate innovative capabilities and expedite essential growth initiatives, empowering them to shape their future rather than be overtaken by it. Together, we enable clients to achieve sustainable growth, streamline internal processes, and improve patient outcomes.

Healthcare systems, hospitals, and medical facilities face significant challenges in enhancing clinical results while minimizing the costs associated with patient care. Merely investing in new partnerships, clinical services, and technology is insufficient for creating substantial and meaningful change. For long-term success, healthcare organizations must empower leaders, clinicians, employees, affiliates, and communities to foster cultures of innovation that lead to optimal patient outcomes.

By becoming part of Huron, you will play a crucial role in helping our clients navigate the rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, optimize their business operations, enhance clinical outcomes, create a more patient-centered healthcare experience, and drive engagement among physicians, patients, and employees across the organization.

Position Summary

Managers hold a vital and dynamic position at Huron. Their extensive expertise is reflected in the projects they oversee and the teams they guide. As leaders of change, our Managers establish enduring partnerships with clients while working collaboratively with colleagues to address our clients' most pressing business challenges. Huron Managers shape and deliver outcomes that align seamlessly with client objectives, visions, and missions. Our Managers are also versatile, dedicating significant time to mentoring junior staff on engagement teams, sharing their knowledge, feedback, and encouragement. This approach fosters a culture of respect, unity, collaboration, and personal achievement within Huron.

As a Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to specialize in specific areas that highlight your expertise while gaining exposure to a wide range of capabilities within our performance improvement practice. Huron is large enough to provide the opportunities and exposure necessary for your career advancement, yet small enough to offer the individual attention required for professional growth. Every team member contributes to our organizational identity, and as you evolve, so do we.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Proven organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage complex multi-workstream performance improvement projects or multiple concurrent client engagements while overseeing the work of junior team members. Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities to synthesize complex data sets and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to implement recommendations that lead to measurable performance improvements and successful organizational change. Professional written and verbal communication skills; ability to provide clear direction to project teams, develop key deliverables, escalate risks, and influence stakeholders, including client and internal senior leadership. Capacity to collaborate with team members and client counterparts to understand business challenges and adapt implementation methodologies to ensure alignment with client objectives. Experience in team leadership, including talent development, training, supervision, coaching/mentoring, and performance management. Compliance with utilization expectations set by practice and responsibility for managing this aspect. Completion of all assigned courses and compliance training is required. Experience in healthcare operations, directing a hospital department, medical group, or team-based projects focusing on process re-engineering and performance improvement initiatives. Leadership experience in hospital department operations, ambulatory operations, or physician compensation with a focus on value-based care and patient access. Project leadership experience within a consulting firm, emphasizing inpatient, post-acute, or medical group performance improvement. Expertise in population health and value-based care leadership roles, focusing on care pathways for risk-bearing providers and care delivery optimizations. Experience in customer engagement and contact center operations, including design, implementation, and optimization of contact centers.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree required. Willingness to travel weekly up to 80% and work extended hours as necessary. Strong leadership and management skills aligned with Huron's core values. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish trust and collaboration quickly. Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000, reflecting a good faith estimate of what Huron expects to pay for this role. Actual salary may vary based on factors such as specific skills, certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This position is also eligible for Huron's annual incentive compensation program, consistent with Huron's pay-for-performance philosophy. Including the annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range is $161,000 - $212,500. This role is also eligible for Huron's benefit plans, which include medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with other wellness programs.
