Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform assigned tasks in compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Accurately complete repair orders and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • Interface effectively with our computer system and possess basic computer skills
  • Support other technicians in repairs with a focus on customer satisfaction
  • Maintain and attain required skills to be a qualified state inspector (DOT)
  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to company information

Minimum Basic Skills:

  • Knowledge of basic engine and drivetrain systems
  • Understanding of basic electrical systems
  • Knowledge of cab and suspension systems
  • EPA 609 Certification
  • Experience with trailer preventative maintenance
  • Knowledge of air, hydraulic, and full power brake systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all fleet equipment, including reefer units and lift gates
  • Diagnose and repair various concerns on reefer units and lift gates
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by the Service Manager

Trade Skills, Knowledge, and/or Experience Required:

  • Provide own hand tools up to 1/2 inch drive
  • Knowledge of proper tool usage
  • Inspection and lubrication techniques
  • Knowledge of cab, frame, front axle, steering gear, and springs
  • Brake system, air, and hydraulic knowledge
  • Clutch, transmission, and differential knowledge
  • Engine tuneup and electrical/electronic testing
  • Overhaul and major component knowledge
  • Trailer repair experience

Skills, Knowledge, and/or Experience Required:

  • Customer-focused approach
  • Knowledge of medium and heavy-duty International truck products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Organizational skills

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with special technical training
  • Honesty and integrity
  • CDL license
  • A full-service lease technician may be asked to complete additional duties, including fueling, washing, and delivering leased vehicles
  • Excellent communication skills, including awareness of others and effective listening ability
  • Customer appreciation and a desire to satisfy customers, with the ability to instill customer confidence
  • A commitment to customer satisfaction by addressing potential issues proactively
