Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CDL Driver to join our team at Waste Connections. As a CDL Driver, you will be responsible for operating a heavy-duty truck to collect and transport waste to disposal facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Trip Inspection: Conduct a thorough inspection of the truck before each trip, including checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls.
  • Route Delivery: Drive the truck to and from customer locations and disposal facilities, following designated routes and schedules.
  • Waste Collection: Move waste bins to positions accessible by the truck and close all enclosure gates as necessary.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate hydraulic hand controls to lift and load refuse, compact waste, and dispose of collected material at designated facilities.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Clean up spills, maintain a clean work environment, and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Customer Interaction: Provide courteous interaction with customers, dispatchers, and supervisors.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete required route/productivity sheets, Vehicle Condition Reports (VCRs), and other forms.
Requirements
  • Valid CDL: Possess a valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
  • DOT Qualifications: Meet all qualifications as defined under DOT regulation 49 CFR 383.51.
  • Education: Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Have knowledge of truck components, possess a clean safety and driving record, and be able to learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to lift 50 pounds.
