Job Title: Air Quality Administrative Coordinator

Buncombe County is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Air Quality Administrative Coordinator. This position will be responsible for managing and coordinating financial and administrative services for the Asheville-Buncombe Air Quality Agency and Board.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate financial services, including budget preparation, financial planning, and tracking of revenues and expenditures.
  • Provide administrative support to the Air Quality Manager and Director, including preparing agendas, taking minutes, and maintaining mailing lists.
  • Assist with grant management, including applying for funds, managing accounts, and filing federal finance reports.
  • Stay informed on current air quality regulations and industry developments through research and participation in EPA and industry webinars and workshops.
  • Perform other administrative duties, including mailing letters, filing, and tracking correspondence and invoicing permitted facilities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • Three years of experience in environmental control work, business, or accounting.
  • Knowledge of current federal, state, and local laws, statutes, and regulations regarding air quality management and control.
  • Ability to utilize a wide variety of data analysis programs for air quality.
