Overview of the Role

The Renewable Energy Marketing Specialist in Commercial Structuring is primarily tasked with bolstering ENGIE's marketing initiatives to secure enduring offtake agreements for the company's portfolio in wind, solar, and energy storage developments. This position involves assessing new business prospects across the United States and Canada, ensuring meticulous and current records of market evaluations conducted by the team, analyzing market dynamics, and delivering insights regarding competitor movements. Additionally, the role includes crafting communication materials that showcase ENGIE's strengths and the key features of potential offerings, while fostering relationships with both new and existing clients.

In this capacity, the Renewable Energy Marketing Specialist will engage in substantial analytical tasks for the Structured Origination team, nurturing a robust collaborative environment within the group and across ENGIE. This will involve coordination with ENGIE's risk management and energy trading divisions.

  • Conduct thorough analyses of wholesale electricity markets and assess new hedging opportunities, merging a quantitative approach to risk evaluation with effective communication skills to convey complex hedging concepts clearly to stakeholders from diverse fields (finance, project development, operations, engineering, strategic management, etc.)
  • Identify national industry trends that influence the future viability of renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness concerning clients
  • Collaborate with ENGIE's project support teams spanning development, construction, operations and maintenance, procurement, finance, accounting, energy trading, and transmission analysis
  • Provide insights on structuring and risk mitigation for new opportunities, including term sheet assessments, prospective project evaluations, existing agreements, and incentive analyses
  • Facilitate the preparation of ENGIE's internal approval processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline that encompasses contracts management, negotiations, risk management, forecasting, financial modeling, power settlements, trading, and quantitative analysis
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the energy sector, emphasizing strong analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Commercial insight coupled with robust analytical and/or technical expertise
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, adaptable environment
  • Exceptional technical writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, and effective presentation abilities
  • Consistent attendance and efficient time management, demonstrating self-motivation
  • Capability to collaborate across various departments within the organization and with external clients

Additional Information

  • This position qualifies for a hybrid work arrangement
  • Domestic travel may be required up to 15% of the time
  • Compliance with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies is mandatory

Compensation Overview

Salary Range: $96,100 – $147,660 USD annually

This range reflects the average expected compensation for a qualified candidate.

Actual salary may vary based on geographic location, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other legitimate factors.

ENGIE adheres to all federal, state, and local minimum wage regulations. The actual salary offered may differ based on geographic location, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other legitimate factors.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for a competitive bonus/incentive program.
